Southern Ag Grain is a joint venture between the following two partners:

Emerald Group Australia Pty Ltd (Emerald) is Australia’s leading independent grains manager. Australian owned and operated, Emerald works with farmer customers to develop grain marketing and risk management solutions that maximise returns and minimise risk.
 
Emerald hold accreditation as a bulk wheat exporter through Wheat Exports Australia, bulk barley exporter from South Australia through ESCOSA and hold an Australian Financial Services License.
 
Emerald's head office is in Melbourne and, in addition to the Southern Ag Grain joint venture, joint ventures and partnerships with regional grower groups include: in the western and Wimmera districts of Victoria the SQP Pty Ltd joint venture was formed with grower group Southern Quality Produce Co-operative; on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia the joint venture, EP Grain, was formed with farmer owned company FREE Eyre Ltd; and in Western Australia, where Emerald is one of the major marketers, strong alliances have also been formed with WAFarmers and Ravensdown United Farmer Co-operative.

Southern Agventure Ltd is a local southern NSW grower group formed with the aim of creating value for the farming community. Southern Agventure started as a grower group in 2005 seeking ways of adding value to local production and initially looked at biodiesel production.

Southern Agventure’s goal is to secure the profitability of farm businesses and rural communities.

Southern Agventure wants to provide a structure to take advantage of future opportunities and would like to bring together like minded farmers who can work for common goals and markets.  Grain marketing is the first of the value-adding activities that Southern Agventure plans to be involved in.
